How can I get involved and contribute?

Start by exploring our Committee finder to identify where your interests lie.

Look to the Unit’s webpage to find out about its current projects and focus areas, along with a list of publications, including recordings of previous virtual events.

Join the Unit mailing list and engage in conversations. Follow their Social Media channels to learn more about upcoming activities and events.

Professional Units often conduct surveys or seek input from practitioners in the field. Respond to these invitations and provide your feedback.

Join the IFLA-L mailing list to receive news from IFLA and other organisations working in the field.

Join us at the annual World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) where you can meet and network with other engaged colleagues from the library field, attend interactive sessions, listen to lightning talks and participate in sessions on timely, current topics.

Every two years, IFLA holds elections for members of its committees. Becoming a member of a Section Standing Committee is another great way to get involved with IFLA Activities – Standing Committees steer the work of the Unit, and organise sessions at the annual WLIC congress. If you missed the election period, you can contact the committee you are interested in and express your interest and support. They may have projects that require additional assistance.

The ability to register for a section and to nominate candidates for Section Standing Committees is a unique benefit of IFLA membership.
