EXTENDED DEADLINE Call for Papers - 2019 Satellite Meeting now launched: "Building Digital Libraries through International Collaboration"

    The Acquisition and Collection Development Section is seeking proposals for papers to be presented at the satellite meeting in New Cairo, Egypt, from August 21-22, 2019. The satellite meeting will focus on building digital libraries within and among countries. It will explore collaboration models that utilize national resources with an international scope.

    IFLA joins the call for deletion of articles 11 and 13 in the EU copyright reform

      This week, 89 organisations, defenders of freedom of expression and freedom of access to information, co-signed a letter asking for the deletion of controversial articles in the proposed European Copyright Directive. IFLA, who had already openly underlined the threat posed by these provisions to access to information, is among the signatories. There is right now momentum for their deletion.

        Bringing the Marrakesh Treaty closer to practice: IFLA releases new monitoring report

          IFLA has today published an update to its Marrakesh Monitoring Report. This sets out which countries have ratified or acceded to the Treaty, and which have taken the necessary steps at the national level to make it a reality. It underlines the need for continued attention at the national level to make a reality of the promise of Marrakesh.
