IFLA Newsletter, Vol. 4, No. 8

Welcome to the August newsletter!

The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is celebrated annually on 9 August. This day highlights the rights of Indigenous Peoples to self-determination – preserving their culture, centering their own voices, and making decisions for the benefit of their communities past, present, and future.

This month’s newsletter shares a look at some recent events that brought Indigenous librarians together with a wide range of IFLA Sections to discuss some of the most pressing issues in the field. It features a good practice example of promoting Indigenous language from the National Library of Finland and debuts a brand-new edition of the IFLA Internet Manifesto!

Happy reading!
