On 17 January 2017, IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner was awarded the Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst (Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art) from the President of Austria.
The IFLA Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section Standing Committee invites papers for the 15th Interlending & Document Supply Conference, to be held 4-6 October 2017 in Paris hosted by The Centre technique du livre de l’enseignement supérieur (CTLes) which is an operator for the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
Over the past year, Librarians and Wikipedians have been working together to showcase the many successful collaborations between libraries and Wikipedia. Starting with the first Wikipedia #1lib1ref campaign, we developed Opportunities papers which highlight the many ways libraries and Wikipedia are already engaging to verify information and make it accessible.
On Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th January, representatives of European governments will discuss draft legislation to implement the Marrakesh Treaty in the European Union (EU). IFLA, alongside EBLIDA and EIFL, calls on Member States to reject amendments that would undermine its potential to help people with print disabilities.
Bibliography Section together with Subject Analysis and Access Section will be hosting a joint 2-hour open session during the 2017 conference in Wrocław, Poland.
The IFLA Law Libraries and the Subject Analysis and Access Sections invite proposals for papers to be presented at their joint two hour open session at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland.
