Spain’s Recent Copyright Reform: an Interview with the Chair of the Library Association’s Copyright Group

    The Spanish government recently implemented two European directives: the Marrakesh Directive, and the Collective Management Directive. The bill that transposed these two pieces of legislation came with unexpected proposals on the topic of public lending rights.       Adoption of the European Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market

        The Council of the European Union has now also adopted the European Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. After the entry into force of the text in a few weeks, a period of national implementation will start. IFLA, alongside partner organisations, will now engage with members at the national level to get the best outcome for libraries.

        Call for nominations: Chair of IFLA Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE) – term of office August 2019 – August 2021

          IFLA has issued a call for nominations for the Chair of its Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression. Only National Library Associations who have paid their Membership dues for 2018 in full are eligible to nominate. Interested candidates should contact their associations.
