Deadline for proposals: 5 March 2020
In partnership with the IFLA Women, Information and Libraries (WIL) Special Interest Group and the Access to Information Network – Africa (ATINA) SIG, we are inviting proposals for papers to be presented at our joint open session during the 2020 IFLA World Library and Information Congress in Dublin, Ireland.
Our joint satellite meeting with Science and Technology Libraries section took place in Vienna, Austria in August 2019 with an Open Science theme.
The “IFLA/Systematic Public Library of the Year” award celebrates new public libraries. Applications being accepted from 1 February 2020.
The programme and registration for the mid-term meeting are now available.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Satellite meeting has been cancelled.
[cancelled] This is a call for paper submissions to our satellite meeting in Dublin on 13-14 August 2020, preceding this year’s IFLA WLIC in Dublin, Ireland. Please consider sharing your international research project, commentary on international research, or case for a research clinic by 7 March 2020.
Theme: IFLA Standards and Professional Practices in Conversation
Interested cities and towns have until 25 June 2020 in order to submit their candidacies to be UNESCO World Book Capital 2020. IFLA encourages libraries to approach their local authorities to explore whether they can support a bid.

IFLA’s Literacy and Reading, Public Libraries, Metropolitan Libraries and Libraries for Children’s and Young Adults Professional Units invite proposals for their Joint Satellite Meeting to be held at the Said Business School, Oxford on the 12th and 13th August 2020 prior to the IFLA WLIC in Dublin.
IFLA congratulates Vicki McDonald, member of the IFLA Governing Board and Chair of the Professional Committee, on her receipt of the Membership of the Order of Australia, as part of the Australia Day Honours.
