Effective access to information as key to sustainable poverty reduction and thriving in Africa
ATINA invites proposals for papers to be presented at its Open Session during the 2014 IFLA World Library and Information Congress/ 80th Annual Conference, Lyon, France, 16-22 August 2014.
ATINA, a global network of development information professionals concerned with broadening effective access to information and knowledge for development in Africa, is an IFLA Special Interest Group sponsored by Africa Section.
"Effective access to information as key to sustainable poverty reduction and thriving in Africa"
Proposals must be original work of author(s), address one or more of the sub-themes, written in English or French, and include:
Length of papers and presentations: Four papers will feature at the open session. Each paper is expected to be about 2000 words in length, and to be presented and discussed within 20 minutes in about 10 slides.
Readiness to attend and present paper: Authors should be prepared to attend the conference and present their papers in person.
15 January 2014 | Submission of paper proposal (with 200-word abstract). |
20 January 2014 | Acknowledgement of receipt, with provisional acceptance of proposal if applicable. |
31 January 2014 | Submission of four page extended outline of paper. |
15 February 2014 | Notification of acceptance of proposal. |
22 March 2014 | Submission of completed draft of paper, with a commitment to attend 2014 WLIC. |
25 May 2014 | Submission of presentation slides ("PowerPoint"). |

All proposals must be in before 15 Enero 2014.
All expenses, including registration for the conference, travel, accommodation etc., are the responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided by IFLA, but a special invitation can be issued to authors.
The French National Committee and IFLA have worked hard to secure funds for Conference Participation Grants. Up-to-date information will be available on our Conference Participation Grants webpage.
