On 2 August 2015, after more than three years of negotiations and intense involvement from many stakeholders, including IFLA, the Member States of the United Nations agreed a final version of the post-2015 Development Agenda – now known as 2030 Agenda.
The IFLA Management and Marketing Section is organizing a satellite meeting on "Managing Human Resources in the library and information context: How do we want to work tomorrow?" to take place before the IFLA World Library and Information Congress in 2016.
IFLA invited a team of chief librarians, researchers and experts in the field of development, information communication and technologies (ICT) and communication and knowledge management from the Asia Pacific region to lead the panel discussion.

The United Nations Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3) was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 13-16 July. 193 UN Member States attended the Conference and agreed on the “Addis Ababa Agenda for Action” (AAAA)
In recent weeks, IFLA members have become concerned as they observed copyright changes in Jamaica and Canada that extend the term of copyright protection. A rich public domain and fair access to copyright protected material enhances creativity and the production of new works.
